ABOUT FLORA
Margarine was invented in 1869 at the request of Napoleon III. However, it was in the 1950's when Dutch medical society, worried by the state of heart health, asked Unilever to produce vegetable oil spreads as a healthy alternative to butter. Flora has now been on the market globally for almost 50 years.
Today, all our Flora spreads are high in good unsaturated fats (poly and mono), which help to keep hearts of all ages healthy. They are all reduced in bad saturated fats and are virtually trans-fat free. There's a Flora spread to suit everyone in the family.
ABOUT FLORA PRO-ACTIV
Flora pro-activ was launched in Australia in 1999 and was the first plant sterol enriched product on the market. It has since been the number one selling spread in the market to lower cholesterol absorption.
Flora pro-activ spreads are made for people who are concerned about their cholesterol. They contain

How do the plant sterols in Flora pro-activ work?
Plant sterols work to decrease our cholesterol absorption from food. They also prevent the re-absorption of cholesterol within the body. The cholesterol that is not absorbed is removed from the body. As a result, less cholesterol circulates in our system.
